And then there was one.
Raymond Louie has told reporters he is not running for re-election to council in the Vancouver municipal election later this year.
That means four of the five current Vision Vancouver city councillors have announced this will be their final term; as things stand, only Heather Deal would be running for re-election under the party’s banner.
Louie, 53, has served on council since 2002. He was first elected as part of the Coalition of Progressive Electors, but was part of the breakaway group that formed Vision Vancouver ahead of the 2005 election.
Born and raised in East Vancouver, Louie is currently vice chair of Metro Vancouver and was previously president of the Canadian Federation of Municipalities.
