It appears Justin Bieber won’t get into any trouble for his role in an altercation at a Coachella party over the weekend.
The pop singer allegedly punched a man who refused to release a woman from a chokehold, but authorities say the man has decided not to press charges against Bieber and that no witnesses to the confrontation have come forward.
Bieber allegedly witnessed the man grab the woman by the throat during a party Saturday at the music festival, according to TMZ. Bieber and a friend confronted the man, who might have been on drugs according to some accounts, and yelled at him to release the woman.

When the man refused, Bieber allegedly punched him in the face and threw him up against a wall, giving the woman a chance to escape.
In a follow-up story, TMZ reported that the choking incident was not reported, but authorities responded to the scene after it was called in that Bieber had thrown a punch. Police consider the matter closed, according to TMZ.
