Vancouver alt-country icon Craig Doyle – also known as Mac Pontiac – has died at the age of 51.
Doyle is “one of Vancouver’s most respected singer-songwriters with gritty tales rooted in tradition,” according to his biography on the NE1 website. He has performed for more than two decades and shared stages with the likes of Wilco and Herald Nix.
He is also the entrepreneur behind Vancouver’s Bang-on and Cherry Bomb t-shirt empire.
Doyle was the subject of the documentary Girlfriend Town which is available on YouTube.
