Elliott was injured during Saturday’s 4-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes while making a save in the shootout.
For the time being, Philadelphia will be sending out Michal Neuvirth between the pipes while Elliott recovers, unless general manager Ron Hextall makes a move for a new goalie before the Feb. 26 trade deadline.
The Flyers currently sit third in the Metropolitan Division, four points ahead of the Carolina Hurricanes who hold the second wild card spot.
Elliott has been shouldering much of the load this season, playing 41 games while recording 21 wins, a .908 save percentage and a 2.72 goals-against average.
