Calgary Flames release Young Stars roster

The Calgary Flames have announced their roster that will play in the Young Stars tournament this weekend in Penticton, B.C.

Highly-touted prospect Spencer Foo headlines the forwards who will play at the event. Foo, 23, was a finalist for the NCAA’s Hobey Baker Award last season after scoring 26 goals and 36 assists in 38 games for Union College.

Calgary signed the right-winger on June 27.

Canadian world junior silver medallist Dillon Dube will also line up at centre for the Flames. He had 20 goals and 35 assists in 40 games last year for the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League.

Calgary’s 2017 first-round pick Juuso Valimaki highlights the defence. The six-foot-two, 212-pound, left-handed shot played last season with the WHL’s Tri-City Americans.

Tyler Parsons, who won gold with the United States at last year’s world juniors, will play in net for the Flames. Parsons had put up outstanding numbers the last three seasons with the OHL’s London Knights.
